COLUMBUS MARCHING FESTIVAL

Friday, October 3

 

3:30pm           Load equipment trucks. All Pit members need to be present.

6:00pm           Football Game at UNK.

LOAD UNIFORMS and INSTRUMENTS onto the truck

at the end of the game.

 

 

Saturday, October 4

 

5:00am           Load buses at KHS. Load HATS and SMALL INSTRUMENTS
at this time.

5:30am           Depart for Columbus

8:30am           Parade Line Up begins. Upon arriving in Columbus we will
change into uniforms.

9:30am           Parade begins. Once we are done we will change out of uniform

                        and go to lunch.

11:30am         Lunch on your own.

1:00pm           Load buses and depart for  music rehearsal
at old Walmart parking lot.

1:15pm           Music rehearsal.

2:15pm           Load buses and depart for CHS.

2:45pm           Marching Rehearsal at CHS.

3:00pm           Change into uniforms.

3:30pm           Depart for Pawnee Park.

 

Parents & Fans:  Pawnee Park is on the West side of Hwy.81 (33rd Ave) as you come in to Columbus from the South.  Take Hwy. 30 to Columbus, then turn left (North) on Hwy. 81 (Hwy.30 & Hwy.81 join) and you will find Pawnee Park on your left as you approach 8th Street.  If you get to the Railroad you've gone too far. - Check the Google Map for a map of Columbus.  Watch for parking directions as you enter Pawnee Park.

 

4:30pm           KHS Performs. 

5:45pm           Awards ceremony. 

6:30pm           Change out of uniform and load buses.

7:00pm           Depart Columbus. We will stop in Grand Island for dinner.

11:00pm         Approximate arrival at KHS. 

      EVERYONE HELPS UNLOAD THE EQUIPMENT TRUCK AND CLEANS OUT THE BUSES.

 


 

 

THINGS TO REMEMBER

 

  1. Make sure you have your entire uniform.

___Coat      ___Pants      ___Hat    ___Gauntlets     ___Gloves     ___Shoes      

___Black socks     ___Shorts to wear under uniform

2. Be sure you have everything for your instrument.

            ___Reeds         ___Mouthpiece            ___Valve Oil

3. We are representing Kearney High School. All rules and regulations of KHS apply. There is to be no profanity, smoking, drinking or any other inappropriate behavior at all. ABOVE ALL, BE THE CLASSIEST BAND AROUND. BE POLITE, RESPECTFUL, AND MODEST!!!

4. You must ride the bus to and from the competition. If you want to ride home with your parents, you need to provide Mr. Svoboda with a signed, written note prior to OCTOBER 3rd.

5. No make-up or jewelry is to be worn with the uniform. This includes watches. The only unit that may wear make-up is the Color Guard.

6. Hair is to be worn above the collar. If your hair needs to be pony-tailed, it should then be worn inside the hat. Bring whatever necessary to accomplish this.

7. Bring money for food at the stadium.

8. DEPARTURE TIMES ARE FIRM. WE HAVE SCHEDULED THE DAY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU, THE PLAYER, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. DO NOT BE LATE!
