The January Band Parents Meeting will be on
Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at 7:30 pm.
This was planned to be our 'Runza Night' but will be held in the KHS
Band Room as usual.
Band Trip - Sugar Bowl
The Bearcat Band Trip went
to New Orleans to play in the Sugar Bowl (Dec.'09).

From the Directors: "The final
price of the KHS Band trip to New Orleans will be $845 and will include
2 suppers. Payments will be due on November 9th. Please note this is a
change from what has been previously stated. You will receive a letter
next week stating how much you have paid, how much is in your students
account, and how much your final payment will be. If you have any

Pep Bands are required of all band members as they
are graded on their participation and it is also counted towards earning
their letter for band. Students are required to attend THEIR ASSIGNED
PEP BANDS in order to receive full credit in class. To be considered for
a letter in band, students must attend two extra games. If a student
cannot make an assigned game they must obtain a substitute OF THE SAME
INSTRUMENT and they must make up their absence.
There are two games on each date (with the exception of 2/19) and the
students must stay for the entirety of BOTH GAMES. For lettering
purposes, students can stay for one of the games to earn one extra
attendance, or both for two extra, as long as they were not assigned to
that date.

The Bearcat Band received a
'2 - Excellent' rating at NSBA.
The Bearcat Marching Band received a '2'
both in Columbus and at Lincoln 'Links'.
